AGC
Asia Global Crossing Taiwan, 60% owned by AGC
(Asia Global Crossing; AGC) and the rest by MTI
(Microelectronics Technology Inc.; MTI), was founded
in 2000. It acquired the first national license
of international ocean cable for rental businesses
in August, 2001. In addition to international
broadband cables (IPLC、IRU), its services include
international telecommunications such as IP Transit、IP-VPN、Frame
Relay、ATM、DIA(Direct Internet Access)、Co-location,
etc..
AGC built an ocean cable system offshore Taiwan,
including ocean cable landing stations to the
Backhaul system network in the NeiHu center.
Connecting to the EAC ocean cable system, through
Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, the
Philippines and Mainland China (allowing related
regulations), the AGC ocean cable system connects
to America and more than 200 major cities in
the world through PC-1 (Pacific Crossing-1)
ocean cable system in Japan and Asia AGC. With
the presence of EAC ocean cable system on and
around the island, Taiwan has become an important
part of this ocean cable system. Now the overall
released bandwidth of the EAC ocean cable system
has reached a high of 160 Gbps.
