Kingnet was established in September 1997. In
June 1998 it completed the first community network
system structure in central Taiwan and began
to provide fixed dedicated line networking service,
a new milestone for networked communities in
central Taiwan. In October of the same year,
the company implemented and completed more than
ten “networked communities” in central Taiwan.
In March 1999 it cooperated with Shing-Shuang-he
Cable Television 興雙和有線電視台 to successfully integrate
the Internet use with cable television systems.
In June it set up a branch in Taipei to promote
network development experience in communities
and enlarge the service scope. In November the
company invested in GeoVision Inc., which succeeded
in developing a network video security monitoring
system (“Nethero”) to enhance the added value
of the community network.
In March 2000 “Nethero” was
awarded the EUROTRADE Best Of Taiwan's Best
Awards with a golden prize. In April it obtained
the important technology business applicable
scope standard license issued by the Industrial
Development Bureau, becoming a network service
company awarded by government subsidies. In
October it merged with the Golden Network Inc.
to enlarge the community network implementation
and service scope in northern Taiwan. In May
2001 it successfully promoted network video
security monitoring system and the product “Nethero”
was awarded again with the third anniversary
MIT Excellence Award. In October it purchased
Yi-Yang Technology Inc. 倚揚科技股份有限公司to enlarge
community service scope in central Taiwan. In
March 2002 it integrated the communities administrated
under Hi Run Inc., making its community service
scope reach about 500 buildings to be the largest
Ethernet broadband community service provider.
Kingnet's vision is to become
a well-known overall community service (network)
operator. In all community implementation, if
Kingnet can provide products and services (either
through real distribution channels or the Internet)
all E-CINS's group members will only choose
Kingnet products.
