HiNet, the main Internet service provided by Chunghwa
Telecom Co., Ltd., provides services including:
■Internet connection: ADSL connection, Data Line
connection, ISDN dial up service, telephone services,
with more than 3 million users nationwide, which
includes 1.4 million broadband connection users.
■Value-added Internet services: HiGame (Internet
gaming), hiChannel (audio & video services),
hiMoney (financial advice), hiFate (Internet fortune-telling),
hiAir (wireless message-sending) etc.
■Internet Data Center (IDC) services: Co-location、Web
Hosting、E-mail Hosting、Server Hosting, Storage,
Data Replication Manager, etc. In regards to promoting
business, clients from various industries are
invited into the business. We are also developing
and providing digital service platforms such as
the Game Center, Learning Center, Media Center,
and Portal Center allowing clients to outsource
their businesses.
■E-Commerce services: provides services such as
B2C, B2B, and G2B. Our promotion has been familiar
with the market and accumulated technological
experiences with about 400 clients so far.
HiNet business direction in 2003:
■Broadband connection access: Other than ADSL
connection, we are going to provide “Fiber to
the Building” (FTTB) and Wireless LAN (WLAN)
connection services. As user connections and
bandwidth have various options provided by other
providers, we are going to improve our quality
of Internet services to supply various needs,
such as video-conferencing, VoIP, and set top
box, etc.
■Comprehensive Value-added Internet Services:
based on the existing services, we will combine
IDC services, Micropayment mechanism and strategic
alliances to develop value-added content services.
■ Integrated E-Commerce services: providing
a comprehensive B2C e-commerce service system.
By combining video-conferencing, Web-based Instruction
and Internet management, we are providing various
electronic services to help corporations and
the public take advantage of Internet platforms
to deal with errands. The services will help
corporations save manpower, expand business
and elevate their competitiveness.
