TFN

Taiwan Fixed Network (TFN) has a capital of NT$ 92.2 billion, and the major shareholders include Taiwan Cellular Corp., Pacific Group, Evergreen Group, Acer Group, Fubon Group, Continental Construction Group, Yageo, Compal Group, ASE Group, Foxconn Precision, China Development, and Hsin Kwong Group, etc.

TFN bases on the brand new optical fiber to construct 3 routes and the wideband 400Gigabyte transmission backbone around the island, and adopts the diversified access interface of the user circuit equipment to provide voice, modem service, and other multimedia value-added service. At present, the whole network system architecture includes the efficient and flexible voice switchboard, modem switchboard, and IP exchange network equipment, and the SDH and DWDM optical transmission network equipment, and the diversified wideband access networking equipment. The products and services introduced by TFN include voice service, intellectual value-added service, modem circuit service, network information center service, modem service, Internet service, network information center, and e-corporation services, etc.

TFN completed the constructions for 150,000 users accounts and communication ports in February of 2001. In March of the same year, TFN forged into a strategic alliance with Taiwan Cellular Corp., and the consumers in Taiwan can apply for various wideband telecommunications services through 28 direct service centers of Taiwan Cellular and 336 contracted service centers in Taiwan. In June of the same year, TFN entered into an agreement with 14 million mobile phone users under 5 major private mobile telephone companies for the interconnected networking. In August of the same year, TFN announced its original simple application for the local “Telephone call in for the 006 Taiwan international direct dial and the 1806 domestic long-distance call service”. In November of the same year, TFN completed the upgraded construction of linking TANet with the American Internet connection service.

In January of 2002, the APCS personal network communication service by Taiwan Wideband Net under TFN was introduced, and in March of the same year, TFN merged GCNet with 51% of the shares. In May of the same year, TFN establishes a telecommunication group led by TFN and Taiwan Cellular, and built a general management division to coordinate the companies including companies such as TAT, Howin Technologies, Elitec Corporation, Taiwan Yellow Page, Taiwan Telcom, Taiwan Customer Service, Twindex and GCNet, etc. In August of the same year, the e-product “Corporate e-Manager EIP@net” was designed for corporate users. In September of the same year, the two domain names: ebiz.tw and club.tw were granted for their proprietary business operation.
