SUMMIT MEETING ON CROSS-STRAIT ISP BROADBAND SERVICES
Recent years have seen a tremendous increase in network connections and activities between Taiwan and mainland China that have attracted attention worldwide. The online populations of both areas have grown enormously, and technological innovations have carried them to a new level of Internet popularity. As cross-strait network contacts have become closer, however, related problems have emerged. TWNIC exists to serve ISP and other network organizations as well as businesses, research institutions and Chinese Internet users everywhere. Chinese Internet businesses, ISPs and organizations with an interest in cross-strait Internet issues are therefore cordially invited to attend the first Summit Meeting on Cross-Strait ISP Broadband Services. Participants will include experts from industry, government, research and educational fields with links to important ISPs and electronic network organizations. TWNIC hopes that this meeting will give opportunities for increased contacts among these organizations as well as providing a better common understanding of Internet laws and policies in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.
